Search for Jeremy Scurvey focuses on Yukon River in Whitehorse

RCMP in Whitehorse are searching for Jeremy Scurvey, 25, who was last seen early Saturday morning in the waters of the Yukon River near the city's downtown.

A search is underway in Whitehorse for a man last seen in the Yukon River on Saturday.

RCMP say Jeremy Scurvey, 25, was seen in the water at the end of Lambert Street, early Saturday morning.

Police and Yukon Search and Rescue members were out on the weekend, focussed on the river and its shoreline. A helicopter was also involved, conducting an air search.

RCMP say they continue to focus on the river, but have not discounted the possibility that Scurvey made it to shore, and could now be elsewhere.

He's described as a First Nations man, 5'6", with black hair and brown eyes. RCMP say he was last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie and jeans.  

RCMP are asking anybody with information to contact them.
