Shawn Stuckey, the senior administrative officer in Igloolik, says it was an eight-seater private plane with three people on board.

All three passengers walked off the plane with no injuries, he adds.

A Facebook post by Igloolik's Joasai Kublu said the plane ended up about 15 to 30 metres from the runway, but did not affect planes taking off or landing at the airport.

Transport Canada and the RCMP are investigating the incident, says Stuckey.
