Data on NWT Fire's live fire map shows that fire SS001-24 is declared "out" starting on 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Fire SS001-24 was one of two small holdover fires from last summer recently reported as active near Fort Smith.
SS001-24 was roughly two hectares in size and located about 21 kilometres northwest of Fort Smith, on the near side of the Slave River.
Another small holdover fire is still reported as active in the area.
SS002-24 is less than one hectare in size, and located 38 kilometres north-northwest of Fort Smith on the far side of the Slave River.
In an update on April 29, NWT Fire said that neither fire posed a risk to communities, cabins or infrastructure — and that crews were attacking both fires and putting out "deep-burning hotspots."
