Union plans to picket outside the recreation centre
Barring any last minute deals, employees in the town of Hay River, N.W.T. will strike next week.
The strike was originally set to begin Friday but it was delayed because the union did not have its paperwork in order.
It would also have disrupted a weekend novice hockey tournament.
But now that tournament will go ahead.
Town council is having a "special" closed door meeting to discuss the strike.
The union says it plans to set up a picket line outside the recreation centre Monday morning at 8 a.m.
It says workers voted in favour of strike action January 12.
The union says the town made a poor wage offer and employees want wages to increase to keep pace with the cost of living.
