Falcon Ridge condo dispute in Yukon Supreme Court

A developer wants permission to finish building a controversial apartment block despite the fact some neighbours want the partly-constructed building demolished.

The fight over the Falcon Ridge condo development in Whitehorse is in Yukon Supreme Court today.

The developer wants permission to finish building a controversial apartment block on the property despite the fact some neighbours want the partly-constructed building demolished.

A Whitehorse developer wants permission to finish building a controversial apartment block despite the fact some Falcon Ridge neighbours want the partly-constructed building demolished.

Construction of the multi-million dollar apartment complex was shut down by court order last winter. A judge ruled the developer had tricked and bullied the Falcon Ridge homeowners to push the development forward.

They're back in court this week to determine what might be done with the three-storey skeleton. Members of the 84-unit condo corporation are split on the answer.

The developer, Brian Little, wants to complete the project and has written endorsements from half of the owners to do so.

Among those protesting his plan, are neighbours who consider the apartment block an eyesore and a traffic hazard.

Little says he's already put more than a million dollars into the block and demolishing it would be a complete waste.
