CBC News and Inuit TV have announced a new partnership to support both broadcasters' commitment to preserving and promoting Inuit languages through programming.

As part of the partnership, CBC North's Igalaaq will air on Inuit TV, starting Wednesday.

Viewers can now watch Igalaaq on Inuit TV the following day at 1:00 p.m. ET and a repeat at 5:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday.

This agreement will provide Inuit TV with the rights to air Igalaaq and will increase access and reach of CBC's Inuktitut-language supper-hour news broadcast to new audiences.

Why the partnership?

This partnership reinforces the Inuktitut language, which will help Inuit TV to reach its 80 per cent programming goal for Inuktut programming.

It also allows CBC's programming to inform more Canadians about the news they need through Igalaaq and other CBC programming.

When is the first airing of Igalaaq?

Igalaaq will air on Inuit TV for the first time at 1:00 p.m. ET Wednesday.
