#NWTVotes: CBC North's series of online candidates forums
CBC North hosted online live chat/forum for 17 of N.W.T.'s contested constituencies in 2015 election
Prior to the 2015 N.W.T. election, CBC North hosted a series of online candidates forums, asking candidates about issues affecting constituents in their riding.
The series of one-hour forums took place online on CBC.ca/north. Each forum featured the candidates from one of the territory's 19 constituencies.
In total, 52 of the 60 candidates seeking election across the territory participated in the live forums.
In a live-chat format, candidates answered questions on issues affecting the Northwest Territories and their specific constituency. The forums were moderated by CBC North social media editor Garrett Hinchey, who drew questions from the CBC North editorial staff and reader submissions.
The forums were hosted for 17 of the territory's 18 contested constituencies. A planned forum for the Inuvik Twin Lakes riding was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts for the candidates.
Jackson Lafferty, who was acclaimed in the Monfwi riding, did not return calls and emails requesting his participation in a forum.
