A photograph taken by by Iqaluit's Frank Reardon will be featured in a new postage stamp series called Weather Wonders.
Reardon, who has been taking photos in the city for several years, says he captured the sun dogs in December 2010.
"Came home from work one lunchtime," says Reardon, who is originally from Corner Brook, N.L. "Saw the sun dog out there… It was pretty cold. Ran home, grab the camera and took the shot. I uploaded that evening to the Weather Network."
The stamp is part of a series marking the 175th anniversary of weather observations in Canada.
It will be available in postal outlets across the country later this week.
