Air Tindi and Advanced Medical Solutions will continue to provide medevac services in the Northwest Territories under a new eight-year contract announced Monday by the Department of Health and Social Services.

Air Tindi has held the N.W.T.'s medevac flight contract since 2008, costing $53.9 million as of March 31, 2014.

Advanced Medical Solutions has held the contract to provide medical personnel for the flights since 2007, costing $18.2 million as of March 31, 2014.

Air Tindi and Advanced Medical Solutions competed against proposals from three other companies for the contract.
