The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says two people suffered minor injuries after a helicopter crashed on eastern Baffin Island in Nunavut.

Five people including the pilot were on board the Bell 212 helicopter when it went down Sunday evening.

The aircraft had left Hall Beach, Nunavut, for a site near Clyde River. (Google)

The aircraft was leaving Hall Beach for the Fox 3 radar site near Clyde River, Nunavut. It is operated by Helicopter Transport Services based in Carp, Ont.

Company spokesperson Michael Lavoy says the aircraft was on contract with the Department of National Defence.
