He's faced the likes of André the Giant in the wrestling ring, and now a World Wrestling Entertainment legend is stunning the crowds in Labrador.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan arrived in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Thursday night to delight fans of all ages.

"This is my first time to Labrador. I had a great time, we followed the ice breaker through the ice, saw a black bear when I got here," said Duggan.

"I was all excited about seeing the white rabbits when I got here, they were like, 'White rabbits are everywhere, Duggan,' but it's great of course to come here early, see all these great fans."

Duggan, 60, has been a wrestling star for decades, and continues to make new and younger fans.

Admirers of all ages were surprised to meet the famous wrestler in Labrador.

"Some of my earliest memories as a kid were watching WWE with my dad, and [watching] like Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Rowdy Roddy Piper and all them, so it's kind of cool to meet him in Goose Bay. Never thought that would happen," said AJ Porter.

"I think that the older he's gotten, the funnier he's gotten … it's really cool to see him live, I've watched him on TV for like, decades."

Vince Fiddler said he still has videos of Duggan's wrestling career from the 1980s.

"I told him I'd been a fan, too, since I was a little boy, so I haven't stopped watching him. I'm turning 40 this year, so I'm still watching," said Fiddler.

"I think he's doing pretty good for an old guy … a guy like him is pretty good for his age. Very fit - I wish I was like that, too."

Duggan, along with the Legend City Wrestling Group, will be in Labrador City Saturday night to entertain more fans.
