Winter is coming! Newfoundland could see 10-15 cm of snow by Friday
Environment Canada issued a warning on Wednesday, saying that most of the Burin and Avalon peninsulas will likely see 10 to 15 cm of snow by late Friday, while some areas could see up to 25 cm.
The flurries are supposed to start Thursday evening and become heavy by Friday morning, and strong northeasterly winds will move in to cause blowing snow conditions.
Environment Canada says conditions should improve by Friday evening as the system moves further south.

Special weather statements are also in effect for other areas of the province including the Northern Peninsula, Corner Brook, the south coast and the Bonavista region.
A mixture of snow and rain is expected to move in Wednesday evening and into Thursday, with some coastal areas potentially seeing 10-15 cm of snow by Thursday afternoon.
While the winter storm warnings are still only in effect for the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas, Environment Canada is advising that the warnings may extend into other areas and the public should monitor forecasts.
