Which N.L. riding had the most votes cast in the advance poll?

More people turned out — by far — in the just-completed advance poll for Monday's federal election than in 2011, and that applies to all seven Newfoundland and Labrador ridings.

In all, 31,433 votes were cast in the advance poll in the province.

That's up dramatically from the 17,277 votes cast in 2011's advance poll.

The distinction for the most votes goes to St. John's East.

Here's how things broke down, riding by riding.

Riding 2015 advance poll votes 2011 advance poll votes
Avalon 5,717 2,922
Bonavista-Burin-Trinity 2,874

1,337

Coast of Bays-Central-Notre Dame 3,672 2,168
Labrador 1,650 982
Long Range Mountains 4,385 1,697
St. John's East 7,317 4,474
St. John's South-Mount Pearl 5,818 3,697

Some notes are in order due to the redistribution and creation of new ridings. The riding of Bonavista-Burin-Trinity is compared with the former Random-Burin-St. George's; Coast of Bays-Central-Notre Dame is compared with the former riding of Bonavista-Gander-Grand Falls-Windsor; and Long Range Mountains is compared with Humber-St. Barbe-Baie Verte.
