The City of St. John's has opened its brand new skateboard park on the shore of Quidi Vidi lake.
The City of St. John's has opened its brand new skateboard park on the shore of Quidi Vidi lake.
Located at 208 The Boulevard, the park is geared towards younger children, as well as novice skaters and riders.
Douglas Lawrence started a petition for a skate park in this area of the city, and he attended the opening.
"I just wanted to thank the city for putting this skate park here because there was no skate park in the east end, and if you wanted to go to one you had to go all the way up to Mundy Pond," said Lawrence.
The Quidi Vidi park is the newest of a group of six community skate parks throughout the city.
