For the past two years, the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University has been hard at work with an eye towards the future of the university.

The six-theme plan, Vision 20/20, lays out a direction for Memorial's west coast campus from now until 2020.

The planning process began in 2013 with several rounds of consultation with students, staff, faculty and community partners.

On Thursday, Grenfell unveiled the details of Vision 20/20.

Grenfell hopes to increase research and scholarly work, and add more graduate programs and infrastructure to the campus.

Vice-president Mary Bluechardt said the campus also wants to retain more local students, while attracting others from abroad.

"We have over 24 countries of students who are interested," she said.

"We've really grown in that area. We have, I think it's about 82 international students now. I was just in Belize with our international recruiter. We have students coming from Belize and there are some other international trips that I will be going on with the recruiter as well."

The announcement took place in the Fine Arts atrium of Grenfell Campus.
