Vessel can shuck and individually freeze clams within an hour of harvesting
Clearweater Seafoods is showing off a new state of the art vessel in St. John's this week for harvesting and processing clams off the Grand Banks.
The Nova Scotia company was showcasing the Belle Carnell in St. John's on Friday, touting it as "the most technologically advanced fishing vessel in Canadian waters."

—@ClearwaterseaAccording to the company, the ship will harvest arctic surf clams, cockle clams and propeller clams year-round.
The clams harvested onboard the vessel will be shucked and individually quick frozen within an hour of catch using special harvesting and processing technologies.
"Clearwater has made a large investment with this vessel," said a company spokesperson.
"It represents the largest vessel capital project in the history of Clearwater Seafoods LP."
