Tony Humby hit with 8 more charges as new complainant comes forward, trial looms
Additional counts include sexual assault, child pornography, human trafficking
Tony Humby, a man set to stand trial next week on 72 charges of sexual offences involving youth, is now facing eight new charges.
The 64 year old was formally arrested on the new charges while at Her Majesty's Penitentiary (HMP) in St. John's on Monday afternoon. The allegations come from a new complainant, and range between 2006 and 2013.
The charges include sexual assault, human trafficking of a person under 18, invitation to sexual touching, making or possessing child pornography, among others.
Humby is now facing 87 charges related to alleged sexual misconduct involving 12 complainants, dating back two decades.
He's also facing two charges of sexual assault involving another person in a separate case related to his time at HMP. Humby has been in custody since his arrest nearly two years ago.
His trial on 72 of those charges is set to begin on Monday, and carry on intermittently to the end of May.

His co-accused, 82-year-old Bruce Escott, pleaded guilty and will learn his sentence next Tuesday. The agreed statement of facts in Escott's case allege the two men worked together to sexually exploit vulnerable youths for nearly two decades.
The Crown is seeking an 18-year sentence for Escott, while the defence countered with a submission for nine years.
Escott was facing 14 charges, and pleaded guilty to seven.
