The RCMP say a new round of phoney calls are being placed in Newfoundland and Labrador, from someone pretending to work with the Canada Revenue Agency.
The RCMP say a new round of phoney calls are being placed in Newfoundland and Labrador, from someone pretending to work with the Canada Revenue Agency.
"This is a scam," the force said in a statement issued Wednesday.
"Please don't provide any information to these callers."
RCMP say people who receive such calls should never disclose personal information, including details about their bank account or their social insurance number.
"If they have given out personal information such as banking or SIN please contact your local police department to have a complaint file started," the RCMP said.
Such calls can be directed to either Revenue Canada or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
