Terry French, former MHA, will run for mayor in Conception Bay South

A former provincial politician who stepped down in 2014 is now entering the mayoral race in Conception Bay South this fall.

A former provincial politician who stepped down in 2014 is now entering the mayoral race in Conception Bay South this fall.

Terry French made the announcement on Wednesday morning.

French was first elected to the House of Assembly to represent Conception Bay South in 2002.

During his time in provincial politics, he held a number of cabinet portfolios, including tourism and justice.

He currently works as the president of the Construction Labour Relations Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Current C.B.S. Mayor Steve Tessier announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking re-election in the fall.
