Technical issue delays Marble Mountain chair lift opening
Marble Mountain's new high-speed chair lift will not open this weekend as planned.
Staff at the west coast ski resort have been working to get the new lift installed after a lightning strike and subsequent fire destroyed the former one last August.
The new chair lift was named The Lightning Express by the public following an online poll last fall.
Marble originally said the lift would be up and running when the season opened in December, however technical problems have delayed the process.
Another such issue came up on Wednesday, when crews were putting chairs on the lift line.
Leitner–Poma, the company responsible for the new lift, is flying in a specialist to try and figure out the problem.
Marble Mountain had planned to have the new lift open for this weekend, but it's unclear now when it will be in operation.
