Team Gushue Highway extension work continues

Work is continuing on a major new highway across St. John's, as construction crews build three bridges along the Team Gushue Highway extension.
Three more bridges will be tendered next year, and paving will follow.
Newfoundland and Labrador minister of transportation, Nick McGrath, spoke to the media on Wednesday, and said the $50 million extension will open in 2015.
"It seems like nothing is happening ... building a highway of this magnitude certainly takes time ... and all of a sudden people start seeing that things are happening," said McGrath.
"That's where we are right now and we're pleased with the progress."
The highway will extend from the Outer Ring Road to Pitts Memorial Drive.
