Repartee, a St. John's band known for mixing dance rock with synthesizer-laden pop, cleaned up at Sunday night's MusicNL awards in St. John's.

The four-member band won every award for which it had been nominated, including group and album of the year, for a self-titled recording that marked its full-length debut.

"I'm overwhelmed. I've said that word so many times tonight, but I don't know how to describe it," lead singer Meg Warren told CBC News.

"I just feel so much love from the people in this room ... This is really amazing."

Repartee also won awards for best new artist, best pop-rock group and the fan's choice award.

Warren's romantic partner, Tom Power, the host of CBC Radio 2 Morning, won as the media person of the year. Power is also a member of the Dardanelles, which won in the Celtic/traditional category.

St. John's-based Chris Kirby won both the male artist and songwriter of the year awards.

Katie Baggs won as best female artist.
