With an empty seat on St. John's council, a byelection has been set to replace former councillor and newly minted MHA Jamie Korab.

Voters in Ward 3 will cast their ballots for a new councillor on Nov. 5.

"Notice is given that Oct. 1 to 8 are the days on which nomination of candidates for Ward 3 councillor will take place," said the city in a statement.

The seat was vacated after Korab was elected as the Liberal candidate for Waterford Valley in last month's byelection to replace Tom Osborne.
