St. John's police investigating suspicious death

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the east end of St. John's on Saturday night.

A police spokesperson said a disturbance was reported at a residence on Portugal Cove Road shortly after 10:30 p.m.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the deceased was found with gun shot wounds.

They are now looking for a man they believe has information about what happened.

Philip Wayne Pynn, 25, is believed to have been present at the scene during the shooting and may have valuable information regarding this murder investigation.

Police said Pynn was last seen leaving the Portugal Cove Road area at approximately 10:30 pm on Saturday in a light coloured car.

He is described as approximately 5'7" weighing 170 pounds, with hazel eyes and a brush cut.

The RNC is advising the public not to approach Pynn. They said Pynn is potentially dangerous and possibly armed.
