St. John's company swings into Hollywood blockbuster
Other Ocean Interactive, a St. John's video game company, has created a video game based on the current Hollywood blockbuster movie The Amazing Spider-Man.
The game, which was designed for the Nintendo DS gaming system, focuses on Spider-Man's web swinging and free flowing combat, and has a feature which allows Spidey to take out five or six enemies at once.
Paul Schiavone, a producer with Other Ocean Interactive, said working on the game was a big deal for the company's employees.
"Everyone knows the Spider-Man franchise. A lot of us are in the right age group, that we grew up with that comic series," enthused Schiavone. "So for us, its good. It puts us on the map. It's a title we all enjoy working on as well."
Ocean Interactive worked on another Spider-Man video game called Edge of Time, which was released in 2011, and used many of the same employees for both Spidey projects.
