You can find a Newfoundlander and Labradorian just about anywhere you go.

For a local couple vacationing in the Azores, is wasn't a person but a ferry destined for Fogo island that they encountered.

Nina and Lewis Pye sent CBC News photos of the MV Veteran, which will service the Fogo island-Change Islands run, in the ocean off the island of Faial.

"In the background is the beautiful island of Pico with its majestic mountain," wrote the Pyes, who are in the Azores —a cluster of islands off Portugal — celebrating their 30th anniversary.

The MV Veteran is on its second attempt to sail for Newfoundland and Labrador waters, after a new engine was installed to replace one that malfunctioned on its maiden voyage in August.
