Unlikely hockey hero John Scott was a hot topic across social media Monday, as fans continued to celebrate the enforcer's MVP status at the National Hockey League All-Star Game.

Scott, who was sent to the Montreal Canadiens' AHL affiliate St. John's IceCaps, scored twice during the three-on-three All-Star tournament Sunday night.

Not only did he relish the goals, Scott was selected by fans as the write-in MVP for the game.

The All-Star Game came after a few whirlwind weeks for Scott, who went from playing for the NHL's Arizona Coyotes to the AHL's IceCaps in mid-January, leaving his All-Star status in limbo.

Support for Scott came from fans and his new team, the St. John's IceCaps — or should we say, the St. John Scott IceCaps.

Needless to say, IceCaps fans are excited at the prospect of Scott hitting the ice in St. John's.
