#ShirtlessCritch captures hearts and minds of Canadians, shocks and awes one politician

MP opens up about the face palm felt across Canada

In a move that could one day be honoured with a plaque, holiday long-weekend or commemorative stamp, a shirtless comedian's pale skin outshone the Prime Minister in a St. John's photo-op this week.

It was the photobomb felt around the world. Or at least the social media world…in certain parts of this country.

When Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cut in front of Mark Critch in an attempt to get yet another Abercrombie and Fitch-esque male model picture atop Signal Hill, the This Hour has 22 Minutes funny man pulled his shirt off.

It was Trudeau's Member of Parliament for St. John's South - Mount Pearl who appeared most shocked of all.

"Absolutely no clue whatsoever. None,"Seamus O'Regan told CBC News

"I was amazed at the beauty of it all."

The emotion displayed by O'Regan — a legitimate face palm — perfectly summed up Canada's reaction to a photo that should someday hang in the National Gallery of Canada.

"I could sense that the Prime Minister was mildly perturbed," O'Regan said of the #ShirtlessCritch incident.

"Nobody likes to be shown up with that sort of Greek wonder. It was liked [Critch] was chiseled."
