A woman in Logy Bay took home a $675,000 payout after winning the top prize on a Set For Life scratch ticket.

Winnie Devereaux buys a Set for Life ticket weekly, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation said in a release, but had never won more than small prizes.

"When I went to the store Sunday morning to check the ticket, the young man who served me said, 'My love you have an early present,'" Winnie said. "I guess he was right."

Devereaux had the choice between the lump sum payout, or $1,000 a week for 25 years — she went with the $675,000.

"I haven't made any big decisions on the money," she said. "I will be buying a new vehicle as my car is six years old, and maybe visiting family in Alberta and do some shopping."

Devereaux is the sixth Set for Life top prize winner in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2016, the ALC said in a media release.
