Carbonear man dead following single vehicle crash on Veterans Memorial Highway
Police say vehicle left highway and rolled into a ditch between Spaniard's Bay and Tilton exits
A Carbonear man is dead following a single vehicle accident near Tilton on the Veterans Memorial Highway on Thursday, the RCMP have confirmed.
The 57-year-old died after his vehicle left the road and rolled over in a ditch around 4:30 p.m. between the Spaniard's Bay and Tilton exits. He was the only person in the vehicle.
As of 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the road was still closed and traffic was being diverted through New Harbour Road, Spaniard's Bay.
The Spaniard's Bay Volunteer Fire Department and a traffic analyst were also on the scene of the crash. Police are investigating.
