Rowing season is officially underway in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The season kicked off on Saturday with the annual Discovery Day race in St. John's and it was the largest competition yet.
More than 60 crews took to the water in fixed-seat boats holding six rowers and a coxswain.
Many of the crews are gearing up for the Royal St. John's Regatta which will be held on the first Wednesday in August.
