Roofer in critical condition after falling 20 feet to concrete
A man who was working at a construction site on the Southern Shore Tuesday morning is in hospital in critical condition after falling through a plastic roofing tile.
A man who was working at a construction site on the Southern Shore Tuesday morning is in hospital in critical condition after falling through a plastic roofing tile.
Ferryland RCMP said the man, 20, was doing roof repairs on a building in Trepassey used by the Glamox Lighting Corporation when he stepped backwards onto a transparent, plastic roofing tile.
The man fell through the plastic, falling roughly 20 feet on to the concrete floor below.
Police said the man, who suffered serious injuries, was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's around 8:30 a.m.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the man was in critical condition.
Police are not releasing his name until family members are notified.
