The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating the discovery of two bodies in a vehicle off Portugal Cove Road Tuesday afternoon.

However, police do not believe the deaths are suspicious.

Police received a call around 3:30 p.m. from someone in the area about a vehicle parked in a wooded area just off the road in the Windsor Lake area in Airport Heights.

Const. Steve Curnew said the two people inside the car, one male and one female both in their early 20s, were unresponsive.

Curnew said they were both pronounced dead at the scene.

"We don't believe the deaths to be suspicious in nature," said Curnew.

A police investigation is ongoing, and autopsies will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
