RNC Chief Browne stepping down

The chief of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary police force is stepping down.

Joe Browne informed his officers Monday that he is retiring as chief effective at the end of April.

Browne, a 28-year veteran of the force, has been chief for the past five years.
