Pynn-Butler trial: Jury sent home for 2nd day in a row

Another snag at Supreme Court in St. John's has meant another delay in the second-degree murder trial of Philip Pynn and Lyndon Buter.

Another snag at Supreme Court in St. John's has meant another delay in the second-degree murder trial of Philip Pynn and Lyndon Buter.

The jury in the trial, which has been hearing evidence about the 2011 shooting death of Nick Winsor, was told that an issue had arisen that required lawyers in the case to take time to review.

On Wednesday, the trial was delayed over another issue. CBC News is not allowed to report on anything said in court without the jury present, including the matter that triggered the delay.

Justice James Adams apologized to the jury for the unexpected delay on Thursday, and asked them to return on Friday morning.

CBC reporter Ariana Kelland has been filing updates from the courtroom to our live blog.
