Province, Kruger set to finalize Corner Brook mill loan
The provincial government and Kruger are working to finalize a 90-million dollar loan to support Corner Brook Pulp and Paper.
The provincial government and Kruger were working Monday night to finalize a 90-million dollar loan to support Corner Brook Pulp and Paper.
The money was outlined in this year's provincial budget but was contingent on Kruger reaching agreements with its unions. The final union, employees of Deer Lake Power, ratified its collective agreement on Monday.
Natural Resources Minister Tom Marshall tells CBC News he spoke with Joe Kruger Monday night to get the paperwork approving the loan signed.
The money will be used to help keep the Corner Brook mill in operation.
