On Point: Feature interview with Frank Coleman

The candidate who is widely seen as the top contender for the role of next leader of the province's Progressive Conservatives, and thus the next premier, entered politics with his sights on the top prize.

Frank Coleman says he think he has what it takes to run Newfoundland and Labrador.

"I'm 60 years old, I've worked in the family business for 28 years. It was time for a change, and I thought that I had something to offer," Coleman said.

According to Coleman, the decision to run for leadership wasn't just to do with the top job.

"It wasn't about the premiership right away. It was an opportunity that came along and I believe in the PC party, I believe in that momentum that they have built over the last 10 years," he said.

Coleman said one of his priorities if he assumed the role of premier would be to maintain the economic momentum created by the Tories.
