A couple of former Newfoundland and Labrador Progressive Conservative MHAs are about to enter the federal election.

Senator Fabian Manning is expected to announce Monday evening that he's running again in the riding of Avalon for the Conservative Party.

Manning will quit his position as a federal senator to run in the federal election.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed Manning to the Senate in January 2009.

Manning was elected as the Conservative Party of Canada M P for the riding of Avalon in 2006 but lost his seat in the 2008 federal election to Liberal Scott Andrews.

Former provincial finance minister Loyola Sullivan is expected to run for the Conservatives in St. John's South-Mount Pearl.

Liberal Siobhan Coady currently holds the seat. Journalist Ryan Cleary is running in St. John's South-Mount Pearl for the New Democratic Party.

Harper appointed Sullivan as Canada's ambassador for fisheries conservation four years ago.
