Ed Hutchings has put the family's alpaca farm on the Port au Port Peninsula up for sale, even though you get the impression he's a reluctant seller.
Hutchings and his wife Cathy have run the Felix Cove farm for 16 years. The first in the province, it started as a hobby in 1995 and quickly turned into a petting zoo for tourists.
The 17 alpacas provide an amazing fibre for mittens, socks and sweaters. The farms' knitwear craft shop and farm attracts 10,000 tourists every year.
"The only reason we are selling it is because our children and grandchildren are all over Nova Scotia," Hutchings says.
