Woman killed in motorcycle crash on Northern Peninsula highway

A 45-year-old motorcyclist from outside the province has died after she was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the Northern Peninsula on Monday.

All those involved in crash were from outside Newfoundland and Labrador

A 45-year-old motorcyclist from outside the province died in a multi-vehicle accident on the Northern Peninsula on Monday.

The crash involved three motorcycles and a car, an RCMP news release Tuesday said.

The car was traveling northbound on Route 430 when it crossed into the southbound lane about four kilometres south of Wiltondale, the RCMP said.

Police said the woman died at the scene from her injuries. The two other motorcyclists, both men, were taken to hospital in Corner Brook. One suffered serious injuries.

The male driver and female passenger of the car were also taken to hospital in Corner Brook with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

All those involved in the crash were from outside Newfoundland and Labrador.

The crash caused Route 430 to be closed south of Wiltondale for several hours on Monday. The investigation is continuing.
