Three men, who are from St. John's, Portugal Cove-St. Philip's and Conception Bay South, were charged this week with possession of the proceeds of crime and money laundering.

Operation Battalion bust made in March 2014; cocaine, weapons and $335K seized

Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP have laid more charges as a result of a sting involving drugs and money.

Three men, who are from St. John's, Portugal Cove-St. Philip's and Conception Bay South, were charged this week with possession of the proceeds of crime and money laundering.

Their charges are the result of a six-month operation, of what police have called 'Operation Battalion.' The operation targeted high-level cocaine traffickers in the St. John's area.

Two of the men already face charges as a result of the bust in March of this year. Those charges include cocaine trafficking, money laundering and firearms possession.

On March 14, search warrants were executed at St. John's International Airport, Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal, as well as homes and vehicles in the St. John's area. Police investigators seized $335,000 cash, cocaine, a loaded 9-mm prohibited handgun, ammunition, brass knuckles, a stun gun and a 2012 Toyota Tundra.

The three men were formally charged on June 9, and are scheduled to make a court appearance on June 16.
