Newfoundland and Labrador native Kaetlyn Osmond secured a spot on the Sochi Olympic team on Saturday, after winning her second consecutive Canadian women's figure skating title.
Osmond, 18, is originally from Marystown and now lives in Alberta.
She took the title after coming back from two injuries that sidelined her for most of the last four months.
She scored 207.28 in her Saturday program, which included six triple jumps. The score was the second highest in the history of the event. Joannie Rochette had a score of 208.23, before the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
The team was officially announced Sunday afternoon.
