Movie fans in the central Newfoundland town of Gander will soon run out of a prime entertainment choice.
Fraser Mall Cinemas — the only movie theatre in Gander— has been told to vacate its premises by St. John's-based Fortis, the mall's owner.
Fortis is converting the cinema's quarters into office space, to accommodate provincial government employees who will be transferred to the mall.
Theatre owner Bessie O'Grady said it is unlikely she will reopen in a new location.
