Funeral this week for Alyssa Davis, 17, killed in crash near Kelligrews
The funeral for a Kelligrews teenager killed in a single-vehicle crash on Dec. 23 will be held on Wednesday.
Alyssa Davis, 17, died in a crash on Peacekeepers Way near Kelligrews.
Davis was the passenger in a vehicle that left the eastbound land of the Conception Bay South bypass road and landed on its roof.
She was a member of the Conception Bay South Bluefins swim group and was a student at Queen Elizabeth High School in Foxtrap.
The funeral service for Davis will be held Dec. 30 at the St. Thomas Villanova Church in Manuels at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the Davis family has asked for donations to be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in her name.
The driver of the vehicle, also a 17-year-old girl, was taken to hospital in what police said at the time was critical condition.
Two passengers in the back seat were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash.
