Pop star Flo Rida will be headlining a concert in St. John's on Dec. 8th, music promoter David Carver said Thursday.

Well known for his hit song My House, the rapper will play at Mile One Centre in St. John's.

"This guy just puts on a high energy, great great show," Carver said on Thursday evening. "You're pretty tired and beat up when you leave a Flo Rida show — and that's in a good way."

Flo Rida will be joined by opening act Francesco Yates on stage. The two artists were scheduled to play in the AtlanticFest concert with Selena Gomez before it was cancelled in August.

Promoter David Carver says the rapper approached him looking for an opportunity to play in Newfoundland and Labrador after AtlanticFest was called off.

"He's just a class act all around. I mean, he didn't have to come back and do these dates after AtlanticFest cancelled and he was the one who was pushing for it," Carver said.

"He said 'look, you know, I've made the commitment and I want to get there.' "

Tickets for the concert go on sale on Saturday, Oct. 29.
