A Newfoundland fishing vessel made it to port under its own power on Wednesday after a distress call near St. John's.
Search and rescue officials said the Viking called for help at about 12:15 p.m., when it was taking on water about 13 nautical miles from St. John's.
Sub.-Lt. Sean Ritchie, a spokesperson for the Joint Task Force Atlantic, said the vessel was met by another local boat in the area.
The Viking was taking on water, but it was able to make it to shore on it's own.
Ritchie said there were no reports of injuries.
