First Listen: From Stage to Stage: A Very Blasty Christmas

From stray seabirds to municipal bylaws, the recitationists who perform From Stage to Stage concerts get poetic inspiration from real life.

'There's always something funny happening around you,' says Dave Paddon

Dave Penny, Dave Paddon, Harry Ingram and Hubert Furey perform together in From Stage to Stage.

From stray seabirds to municipal bylaws, the recitationists who perform From Stage to Stage concerts get poetic inspiration from real life.

"There's always something funny happening around you, something worth writing about … you rely a bit on the latest thing you've seen, and a bit on stories you've heard over the years," said Dave Paddon,

"And you weave it all together into something that will get a bit of a giggle."

Paddon, Dave Penny, Harry Ingram, and Hubert Furey all met at traditional Newfoundland song and storytelling circles, and they joined forces to present their original songs and poetry in live concerts.

A Very Blasty Christmas is a compilation of seasonal recitations and music performed by the quartet in front of a live audience.
