A courier company was charged with violating the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Control Act in court on Wednesday.

FedEx is accused of illegally transporting wine from British Columbia to an address in Torbay in March.

There is no word on how much wine was involved.

If found guilty, FedEx would likely face a fine.

The matter is set to be back in court in St. John's on June 27.
