Federal Liberals favorites in N.L., according to CRA poll

The latest poll released by Corporate Research Associates shows that voters in Newfoundland and Labrador favour the federal Liberal party over the governing Tories and New Democrats.

The latest poll released by Corporate Research Associates shows that voters in Newfoundland and Labrador favour the federal Liberal party over the governing Tories and New Democrats. 

Of the Newfoundlanders and Labradorians polled between Feb. 9 and March 2, 40 per cent indicated they are dissatisfied with the federal government's performance.

That percentage is up from 34 per cent in November. 

The federal Liberals have the support of 64 per cent of those polled. The federal Tories are second at 22 per cent, while the NDP are third at 14 per cent. 

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau is far ahead as the best choice for prime minister at 53 per cent.

In comparison, Stephen Harper polled 19 percent. Thomas Mulcair of the NDP is third at just 11 per cent. 

Of the Atlantic Canadians polled, 56 per cent said they would vote for the federal Liberals — an increase of one per cent from three months prior.

Support for the Conservative party remained unchanged at 26 per cent, while the NDP saw a drop by 2 per cent to 14 per cent.

The margin of error for the Atlantic region is plus 2.5 per cent, 19 out of 20 times.
