Family enlists bloodhounds to find snowmobiler

The family of a missing snowmobiler from St. Anthony is resuming the search for his body.

Andrew Eric Sexton, 21, went missing while snowmobiling on Feb. 25. He had been travelling with friends from a cabin when he became separated.

His machine was located, but searchers were unable to find any trace of Sexton.

Police stopped their search, saying they exhausted all leads.

Family member Greg Quinlan is enlisting the help of a dog trainer, who is bringing in bloodhounds to try to find the missing man.

Quinlan said he hopes the animals will succeed where two police dogs and hundreds of searchers have failed.

"We're told they're better for picking up on an older trail," Quinlan said.

"If he is under the snow or anything like that, then I think where the scent is probably older, the bloodhounds are going to get better results than the police dogs."

Quinlan says there's no guarantee the bloodhounds will pick up a scent, but he says the family is willing to try anything. He said a psychic has agreed to go to the area to offer assistance.

A Nova Scotia man with a trained bloodhound has also said he is willing to help.
